Abstract

This article bases on the results of an empirical research on thirty in-depth products published by mainstream online sites in Spain. The analysis procedure that describes has been developed in order to clarify formal, stylistic and functional particularities of the so-called 'special' formats of content, a typology of product conceived for the digital media. The text offers a detailed description of this typology and concludes that the analysed products show hypertextual planning strategies not always deliberate or previously outlined which performs the function of informing in depth. Some of them reveal as well integrated production strategies and others that encourage participatory and productive interactivity.
