In order to investigate the events that took place during the discovery, conquest and colonisation of America, historians, writers, anthropologists, informants and the curious must mainly scrutinise the textual productions of these years, because it must be remembered that information as we know it today, as Gonzalo Abril points out, "was established in the 19th century".
