Abstract

The take-off of the multimedia sector in our country (understanding interactive multimedia applications as such) has been spectacular in recent times. The number of titles published on CD-ROM, as well as the number of producers, has increased considerably. But what does this new industry look like, what products does it offer, and where is the market heading? This paper aims to review the brief history of interactive multimedia applications in Spain up to the present day, analysing the typology of the products along the way and concluding with the new formats that are changing the market.
