Abstract
Fake News: validating information as a social emergency
The current media decentralization and the social systems of content distribution, together with a crisis in the journalism profession and erroneous habits of media use and consumption by citizens, have created a breeding ground for disinformative vices native to the digital ecosystem such as fake news, contents that, having the appearance of being formal and mediated information, are designed to confuse and manipulate public opinion. It is no secret that fake news has become a danger for democracies and public health, especially in the last five years. Therefore, it is urgent to create mechanisms to verify information, journalistic logics adapted to the new times, and, above all, training efforts to improve the levels of media and digital skills to face this phenomenon.

It also seeks to promote solutions to the "snowball" effect characteristic of this type of content, with particular reference to the formation of a critical and active prosumers' citizenship, with the ability to filter and gatekeeper, promoting a sense of shared responsibility in the exercise of reporting through social interfaces.
