At the beginning of 2005, a new compilation of ethical codes of journalism will appear. It contains recommendations from various groups and entities to improve the treatment that the media give to some of the great social challenges of the present. These codes share some common features that are the subject of the introductory study that accompanies them. The following is precisely the section of the introductory study dedicated to presenting these novel features that, in the author's opinion, are so much of the ethical codes as of journalism itself.
