Abstract

The objective of this article is to study how Spanish parliaments incorporate interactive features in their online press rooms as a form of communication, not only with news media organisations but also with citizens. Methods. Content analysis was performed in the online press rooms to evaluate their accessibility, information content types, and interactive possibilities. Results and conclusions. The results show an excellent level in terms of accessibility standards, a divergent incorporation in relation to channels and tools (dissemination of press conferences, real-time broadcasts, for example) and a limited promotion of citizen participation in such aspects as suggestion boxes, the ability to make comments and the use of synchronous tools, among others.
