Abstract

As is the case at national or regional levels of dissemination, at the local level the media become creators of news from the moment they establish their thematic agenda. The list of issues on which they focus their attention and on which they report with priority over others is incorporated into the agenda when the media wants, in some way, to influence them, since by turning them into issues of collective interest it can inform and comment about them. In this way, the media reality ends up deciding what is really important for the audience. The compilation, selection and ranking make up the steps in the production process of the journalistic agenda.
