Abstract

Salvadoran journalism in 2002 was marked by political and business pressure and attacks on the press from different actors. One characteristic that seems to take hold in field work is the risk of reporting any public event. Being hit by a bag of water or a shove can happen at any public event, from a doctors' strike to a fight with street vendors protesting your eviction.
