Abstract

In 2000 and 2001, Microsoft has made headlines, especially based on the lawsuits that are being followed in the United States and Europe for monopolistic practices. But, when reviewing the news, we also find a lot of data that reveals a significant expansionary policy and a tendency to increasingly exploit its clients. We will not review here what happened with the lawsuits, but we do propose to show how a company whose power rests in the presence of its operating system in millions of personal computers has been expanding its claims and developed a strategy that aims to reach an almost control absolute of the Internet and its users.

Collected from multiple sources, we offer the reader fairly detailed documentation about what is happening and what could happen if no one pays attention to the "resources" that the company carefully hides in its software.
