In today’s media ecosystem, informational transparency has become a fundamental pillar for strengthening accountability, journalistic quality, and democracy. This special issue brings together research focused on how media outlets—particularly public service media—develop internal and external accountability mechanisms, how proactive disclosure and access to public information influence citizens' perceptions, and how emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and civic participation are reshaping transparency practices. The issue also explores journalistic narratives, ethical and deontological challenges, and the role of diversity as key elements in building meaningful and effective informational transparency.
